Available for a limited time and located in our Produce Departments, wild leeks are onions native to North America. The bulb resembles a scallion but the leaves are flat and broad. The flavor and aroma is usually compared to a combination of onions and garlic. Wild leeks add a unique and wonderful flavor to soups, casseroles, rice, and potato dishes. You can use them raw or cooked in any dish that calls for scallions or leeks. Wild leeks can be chopped and frozen for cooked dishes at a later date. Look for them when you want something delicious and unique for your recipe!
Andra's Breads
From her home in north central New Hampshire, Andra House celebrates her Latvian heritage through the breads she bakes. “I learned to bake from my grandmothers, who were both Latvian,” says Andra. “Feeding people is how we show that we care.” She furthered her skills working in a Connecticut-based Latvian bakery before settling in northern New Hampshire.
