Did you know that a cooperative is one of the most democratic organizations you can find? And if you want to know more about how our cooperative is run, checking out a Board of Directors Meeting is a great place to start. Every spring, members elect candidates to the Co-op’s Board of Directors. The Board sets goals and provides guidance for the organization. Your participation in Board elections ensures that the Co-op’s development is compatible with your vision. Our next Board Meeting is March 19, 5:30 p.m., in the Hanover Boardroom. Meet Ryan Wilcox, Hanover Receiving Department
He’s got the broad shoulders you just might expect and the broad smile you just might not. It takes broad shoulders to work in the Co-op’s Receiving Department. A lot of freight comes in and out of those doors, and someone has to help it move quickly and make sure the right products get to the right places, each and every day. Ryan has worked in the Receiving area of our Hanover store for a long time. He’s very good at what he does, and he does it all with a willing smile and quiet, soft-spoken nature that makes him appreciated by both coworkers and customers alike.

The Co-op is a food store, after all, and what kind of food store would we be without specials? New store-wide specials are listed weekly, and new CAP specials are listed monthly. Ever wondered what CAP is? It stands for the Cooperative Advantage Program. What’s that? One day, a smart bunch of people decided that if cooperatives all got together, they could have strength in numbers and compete with their big-box competition, and that simple idea started a cooperative buying-power revolution.
