Shopping List for 4:
Produce: 1 red pepper, 1 large Spanish onion
Grocery: 1 bottle Italian salad dressing
Meat: 1 lb. chicken sausage
Bakery: 4 sub rolls
Cheese 8 oz. olives, 2 oz. grated Parmesan cheese
Beverage: Pilsner Urquell
20 minutes ahead: Prepare grill. Cut peppers into
thick slices. Cut onion into thick rings. Toss veggies with Italian
dressing. Place veggies and sausages on grill, and cook 5-8 minutes.
Turn and cook another 5-8 minutes or until done.
Dinner’s Ready! Place 1 sausage and 1/4 of the veggies
into a roll. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Serve with olives.
The Dietitian Says: Many chicken sausages have no
more than 450 mg sodium, and some have as little as 250 mg. The
fat and saturated fat content in chicken sausages is 1/3 or less
that in regular versions and they taste great!
