Try a Taste of Vermont

Our picks are chosen with care by people who want to make you happy. This week we shine a spotlight on local goodness, with a sweet and fruity beverage and a delicious restaurant-quality frozen pizza, both made in Vermont in small batches. Pair with one of our wine and beer recommendations, of course!

“Blueberry

Crystal Spring of Vermont
Vermont Blueberry Water

If you walk into a meeting at the Co-op these days (we have plenty of those), you're liable to find at least someone drinking one of the amazing, delicious, refreshing concoctions from our friends at Crystal Spring of Vermont.

We're crazy about the Vermont Blueberry Water, made with cold-pressed juice from Vermont farm-grown blueberries, mixed with other juices from organic or all-natural produce and other healthy products from Vermont, including maple syrup, honey, and more. All-natural, with no GMOs, chemicals, preservatives, or artificial anything, ever.

Lebanon, Hanover, White River Jct.Beverage Dept.

“Prosciutto

VT Frozen
Prosciutto & VT Goat Cheese

Frozen pizza. Typically the very poster child of meh. Not this. Our friends at VT Frozen have done something amazing with frozen pizza, and when they sample them at our stores we've yet to see a customer try any without picking up a pizza or two on the way out the door. VT Frozen starts with a grilled wood-fired crust cooked at 1600-1800 degrees over maple wood, which gives the pizza that authentic wood-fired taste unique to any other frozen pizza.

The Prosciutto & VT Goat Cheese is like no other frozen pizza on the market, with VT Creamery's tangy goat cheese paired with salty prosciutto on the pie, along with crisp red onions, baby spinach, and a mozzarella and provolone blend that rests on top of fresh garlic and olive oil base. We know. You're hungry now.

Lebanon, Hanover, White River Jct.Frozen Foods Dept.

“Inka

Inka Crops
Inka Crunchy Giant Corn

Made with a unique variety of heirloom corn grown high in the Andes mountains, this delicious, crunchy snack is roasted in sunflower oil then seasoned to perfection.

The end result is a large kernel that's crunchy and satisfying but not brittle, providing an excellent source of energy for people with active lifestyles. Kids will love them as they're not only tasty, but super fun to eat.

Pro tip: Try as a salad topper instead of croutons!

Lebanon OnlyGrocery Dept.

“Foam

Foam Brewers (Burlington, VT)

Last week our friends at Foam Brewery delivered some great new beers to us, and they were every bit as popular as we thought they would be. We're lucky to get these hoppy, refreshing, juicy brews, as they're in-demand not available just anywhere. So be sure to hit the store early and grab one of these beers before they're gone! (Even the labels are awesome, each by a different artist.)

In stores this week: Built To Spill DIPA, For You Pale Ale and Canvas Pale Ale.

Available At
White River Jct.

“Coteaux

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence
Commanderie de la Bargemone Rose

This light and flavorful wine is a crisp rose with notes of strawberries and red currants and a light, floral character. A wonderful summer wine, versatile enough for a wide variety of pairings, It has just been added to our summer rose display and will be here through the end of August, so you can enjoy it throughout the season!

Pro tip: Savor on its own or pair with lighter fare, such as cheese and charcuterie plates, salads, poultry, seafood, and VT Frozen Prosciutto & VT Goat Cheese pizza, of course
